Privacy notice
Last updated 17 October 2026. This notice explains what personal data is handled when you use glidebomb.com, why, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Glidebomb ("we", "us") runs glidebomb.com and is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to privacy@glidebomb.com.
2. The short version
- Your account, coins and play history are stored in your own browser. They are not sent to us.
- We use no advertising cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts or fonts.
- The only personal data that reaches us is what you send through the contact form or by email, and the technical information every web server receives.
- We never sell personal data.
3. Data kept in your browser
When you register, the following is saved in your browser's local storage on that device: your pilot name, email address, date of birth (to check you are 18 or over), country of residence, a salted PBKDF2 hash of your password and of your recovery key (never the password or key itself), your Glide Coin balance, levels, wings, altitude, flight plan progress, saved games, your last 100 rounds and any break you have started.
This data stays on your device. We cannot see it, change it or recover it. You can download it or delete it at any time from your logbook. The full list of storage keys is in our cookie policy.
4. Data that reaches our server
Contact form and email. If you write to us, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, and we keep them to reply to you.
Rate limiting. To stop the contact form being flooded, we keep a keyed hash of the sending IP address with the time of each message, for one hour. The hash cannot be turned back into the address.
Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider's servers record technical information about each request — IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and the response — to deliver pages and keep the service secure.
5. Why we may use it
We answer your messages because you asked us to and because we have a legitimate interest in supporting our players (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Server logs and rate limiting rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Data kept only in your browser is processed on your device to provide the account you asked for (Article 6(1)(b)). Optional preferences, such as sound and lobby layout, are stored only with your consent, which you can withdraw in cookie settings.
6. How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months after our last reply, then deleted. Rate-limit hashes are discarded after one hour. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security, normally no longer than 30 days. Browser data stays until you delete it, clear your browser's site data or delete your account.
8. Where it is stored
Browser data stays on your device. Contact messages are stored on our web server. If a provider processes data outside the UK, we make sure an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum protects it.
9. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. For data in your browser, your logbook's Your data section does this instantly. For contact messages, write to privacy@glidebomb.com and we will reply within one month.
10. Children
Glidebomb is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly handle data about children. If you believe a child has contacted us or registered, please tell us and we will delete what we hold.
11. Changes and complaints
We will update this notice when our practices change and change the date at the top. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
